Lost Ghost Ship in Time by G. L. T. Lyons is a phenomenal achievement and easily one of the best books I have ever read. Serving as a spectacular second installment, it builds beautifully on the groundwork of the first book. The result is an unforgettable, high-stakes journey that completely blew me away and cemented the entire series as an all-time favorite.
This extraordinary novel does a wonderful job of filling the gap between children’s literature and adult fiction, delivering a clean, heart-led story built on meaningful connections and characters you genuinely miss when you finish reading. It tackles some really complex emotions, turning a magical, action-packed coming-of-age tale into an absolute masterpiece that will stay with you forever.
I honestly could not put this book down. The author is a true mastermind at weaving together complex timelines, scattering clever clues that lead to incredibly satisfying, unpredictable revelations - especially when uncovering the true enemy. There is so much going on at once, yet it is all handled flawlessly. The expanded lore and exceptional world-building build perfectly on the first book, making the story feel grander than ever. The action scenes are easily some of the best I’ve ever read. Though the book practically begs for a screen adaptation, Lyons’ descriptive talent is so sensational that the prose achieves a visual vividness all on its own. I also loved how the smallest details fit together so cleverly, grounding the massive imagination of the story with fascinating historical and biblical elements that completely wowed me.
As a parent, this is exactly the kind of literature I want my children to experience; its strong moral themes and brilliant prose naturally foster both personal maturity and a genuine appreciation for creative language. I especially cannot wait to get this into the hands of my teenage daughter, who lives for fantasy, magic, and adventure. Lyons’ writing is a true celebration of imagination and a superb reminder of just how great literature can be. In all, if you want to gift your child an indelible adventure with great values and incredible world-building,
you need to put this book in their hands!
